Raven Holloway, Executive Director of Independence for the Blind of West Florida, is one among twenty-two nonprofit organizations taking part in the inaugural certification program offered by the PSC Center for Nonprofit Excellence. As an Executive Director, Raven is tasked with protecting and furthering the mission of her organization while building community partnerships, donor relationships, and a strong network of support.
Independence for the Blind seeks to improve the lives of the blind and visually impaired through educational endeavors that address emotional and practical needs of their community. Every year, their organization logs over 6,000 hours of instruction time across a variety of programs that support rehabilitation, skill training, and adaptation for more than 200 constituents. With accreditation from the PSC Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Independence for the Blind will receive knowledge and training that will help their organization overcome barriers to resources, growth, and development.
Raven expressed her gratitude for the opportunities that the PSC Center for Nonprofit Excellence provides. “It’s a gem and an incredible resource in our community for all nonprofits no matter their mission,” she shared. “The classes offer a wealth of knowledge from experts in the field and the connections you make with other executive directors is invaluable. All communities would be lucky to have a program like this.”
