About the Pensacola State College Center for Nonprofit Excellence and Philanthropy

The Pensacola State College Foundation (PSCF) established the Nonprofit Center for Excellence and Philanthropy in 2019. This initiative was designed to bolster the training and education of nonprofit professionals and key volunteers in Northwest Florida, enhancing the social sector’s ability to support those in need.

With the vital backing of a founding partner, Florida Power & Light (formerly Gulf Power), the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and Philanthropy launched its nonprofit educational services with an inaugural nonprofit summit. This summit, along with four training sessions led by national experts, served as the cornerstone for the Center’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality professional development and educational resources to the Northwest Florida nonprofit community.

In 2024, the Nonprofit Center for Excellence and Philanthropy launched its inaugural certification program, instructing a class of 22 local nonprofits through 34 full-day, lunch and learn, and virtual training sessions led by national and local area experts.
