Program Manager, Chain Reaction

General Statement

Highschool the ideal time to start transforming teenage potential into great talent. Chain Reaction(CR), a Teen Leadership Institute, is a non-profit organization that empowers teens to learn through service from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. CR teens ages 14-18 and alumni 18-24 participate in service projects and leadership development after school and during the summer. Chain Reaction teens learn their GPA is only one line on the resume and build their experience throughout high school by participating in service, clubs, and afterschool activities. Teens reflect on what they have learned and soft skills they have gained through CR’s service project and leadership development programs. With the support of staff, students develop the awareness, knowledge and are empowered to select their educational pathway to a meaningful career.

Position Purpose

The Program Manager is responsible for implementing and managing Chain Reaction’s Service-Project Program. They are responsible for implementing our proven curriculum that creates a safe, fun, empowering, and positive environment for our teen members.

Applicants should have a desire to work with high school students, have a positive and outgoing attitude with a passion for community service and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Chain Reaction Service-Learning Program

  • Prepare for and conduct program orientation and program with members
  • Execute CR’s service project curriculum
  • Grow membership through recruitment and retention of members to meet grant, program and budget goals
  • Monitor and reconcile membership to ensure all members are in good standing by meeting minimum program requirements and paying membership fee
  • Coordinate and develop partnership and project deliveries of goods or services with benefiting community partners
  • Maintain inventory of program supplies and materials
  • Develop and maintain community and school partnerships
  • Communicate and build relationships with members and guardians/parents
  • Manage volunteer tracking software
  • Assist with creating new service projects
  • Operate CR Satellite programs
  • Recruit and manage adult volunteers for the service project and leadership development programs

Bookkeeping for Teen Membership Dues

  • Invoice members, process and track payment
  • Determine if teen qualifies for a need based scholarship

All Chain Reaction staff are expected to assist with phone calls, attend staff meetings and trainings, attend agency functions as required, assist with special events, promotions, fundraising, and mailings, and provide exemplary customer service for members, guardians, and donors.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent
  • Background in child/human development, social work, or non-profit studies preferred
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Strong command of computer skills required (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Experience in fundraising and event planning preferred
  • Experience with donor development and relations preferred
  • Experience recruiting adult volunteers preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26,500.00 – $32,500.00 per year
